A Summer Concert “Welcome to our Rodeo,” will be held on in the Park fundraiser will be held by 100 Girls Like Us, Inc., an Aurora nonprofit Saturday, July 19, from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Greene Field Park, 774 W. Illinois Avenue, Aurora.
The public is invited. Admission and parking are free. Donations will be accepted. Attendees should bring lawn chairs.
The family-friendly event will feature line dancing lessons, bingo, raffles, face-painting, and gospel, soul, and R and B music. Food trucks will offer hot dogs, chicken wings, rib tips, and po boy polishes.
During the event, girls will deliver a positive, inspirational performance expressing themselves through music, songs and spoken word. Other popular, local youth will also take the stage to share their creative talents.
Proceeds will benefit 100 Girls, founded in 2020 to build self-esteem, confidence and awareness in girls ages five to 17, providing them with necessary tools to successfully navigate their journeys through adulthood.
The organization provides weekly mentoring sessions for girls at 1226 Grand Boulevard, Aurora.
