Congressman Bill Foster (D-IL) announced Monday, Sept. 27 that the Community Alliance for Prevention and 360 Youth Services, which serve Naperville and the far east region of Aurora, were awarded a Drug-Free Communities Support Program grant of $125,000 from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. The funding will help strengthen community collaboration and implement evidence-based strategies to prevent youth substance use, including addressing social access, perception of risk of harm, and youth and parent attitudes.
“The Community Alliance for Prevention and 360 Youth Services do critical work in our communities combatting youth substance use. I’m thrilled that these organizations are getting much needed and deserved federal support to continue helping Illinois families,” said representative Foster. “In Congress, I will keep working to ensure funding for programs that help protect our kids.”
“On behalf of the Community Alliance for Prevention and 360 Youth Services we are thrilled and grateful to receive this grant award to continue our important work as a community around substance use prevention,” said Judie Caribeaux, CEO of 360 Youth Services. “Just as our community is stronger and more effective in addressing youth substance use prevention by working together as a coalition, so too is our Alliance stronger and more effective by working with and being a part of the national Drug Free Communities Program.”
