• Aurora electronic recycling: The city government of Aurora, in partnership with Will County, will be hosts to a free Electronics Recycling Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4 in the City public parking Lot X, 309 N. River Street. The event is open to Aurora residents only and ID is required. All items are free to recycle, including televisions, but registration is at www.tinyurl.com/AuroraRecycles2019 or by calling 630-256-4636.
• Kane County’s Recycling collection event: The next one-day event will be Saturday, May 11 from 8 a.m. to noon at 540 S. Randall Road, St. Charles. There will be document shredding available with a limit of four boxes. Electronics, books, and latex paint will be accepted at this event. There is a fee for TVs and computer monitors, both tube and flat screen, of $25. for screens under 21 inches (measured diagonally) and $35. for screens 21 inches and larger. The fee may be paid online in advance or onsite by exact cash or card. All locations will receive the following items for free: Cable & satellite receivers, cables & cords, cell phones / pdas, circuit boards, computers, dvd players, phones, printers, vcrs, video game consoles.
