Jeff Butler gives a presentation of his recent Honor Flight trip with his father, a Korean era veteran Tuesday at the Kiwanis Club of Aurora meeting at the Prisco Center. Land of Lincoln Honor Flight’s mission is to provide round trip transportation from Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield for veterans in order of their service (WWII, Korean Era and Vietnam Era) who wish to visit memorials honoring their service and sacrifice in Washington, D.C..

The day trip is provided completely free of charge to the veteran in honor of his or her service. All expenses for the one-day trip are the sole responsibility of the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight, including the flight, ground transportation, meals/snack, and beverages. Although the veterans’ trip is free, the guardians have to pay their own way. The organization has provided more than 50 tours.
