At Grace Holistic Center for Education the sixth through eighth graders, taught by Ms Danielle, have worked on several projects throughout the year.

The current project is board games for social studies. Ms Danielle had students choose a part of history to independently study and research. If a student had a similar topic he or she was allowed to find a partner. The students were free to choose anything that was of interest to them that was history-related.

Once they were done with research and gathering information the students had to create a board game based on their topics. The students will play each other’s board games once everyone is finished. Most students have finished their research and some have even finished, or nearly finished, their games. Their social studies time has been dedicated to working on these projects so they can be turned in late May.

The games had to include facts and things learned about the topic as well as be colorful and fun to play. The students decorated their own boards and cards. Everyone has worked very hard on their board games and Ms Danielle is excited to see them all once they have been completed.
