• Writers’ Group, Thursday, Aug. 8, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m..

Writers will discuss their work. Open to adults and high school students. No registration is required.

• New Life For Old Bags, Saturday, Aug. 10, 10:30 a.m. to noon.

The project helps turn plastic shopping bags into sleeping mats for the homeless. For more information, contact Ceil Carey at jackandceil@att.net or 708-846-1704. No registration required.

• Drop-In Job Search and Resume Help, Thursday, Aug. 15, 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m..

An Illinois WorkNet representative will be available to answer job search questions and provide resume assistance in Study Room B.

Kids and teens

• Music & Movement, Monday, Aug. 5, 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., or, 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m..

For children ages zero to six, with an adult. Registration is required.

Kids will get to use simple musical instruments and play with a parachute.
