The third time can be the charm. The Aurora Veterans Advisory Committees (AVAC) fourth annual cruise night, in partnership with the Fox Valley Park District, will be held at McCullough Park, 100 W. Illinois Avenue in Aurora Saturday, Aug. 17 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.. The first two planned events were postponed because of inclement weather.
There will be a 50/50 drawing with proceeds to help support the AVAC Service Dog Project. The money collected thus far, through Monday, for the 50/50 is $3,100. There is no entry fee and prizes will be awarded in the judged event. There will be 21 entry awards for the evening. Food will be available by Amvets Post 103.
Joe Toma, chairman of the AVAC and chairman of the cruise night, said, “The beauty with our venue is that all participants will have a place to sit under the trees and grass knoll at the Prisco Center.”
