AVAC Cruise Night August 17
The fourth annual Aurora Veterans Advisory Committee (AVAC) cruise night will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 after two postponements due to inclement weather.
The auto cruise night will be at the Fox Valley Park District’s McCullough Park. The Fox Valley Park District is a partner with AVAC in the annual event. McCullough Park is at 100 W. Illinois Avenue. There is no entry fee.
There will be a 50/50 drawing. Proceeds will go to support the AVAC Service Dog Project. Those in attendance can meet Steve and Molly, the latter AVAC’s first service dog.
Food will be available by Amvets Post 103 in Aurora. The 50/50 drawing already has surpassed $3,000 and the drawing will be held prior to the end of the evening. Awards in the cruise night will be handed out closer to 7:30 p.m..

Third annual Grace Gala September 6
The Grace Holistic Center For Education (GHCE) will hold its third annual Grace Gala from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at the Homestead 1854, 611 Main Street in Plano.
The fundraiser for the school in Yorkville will include a craft beverage outdoor dinner. The cost is $150. with culinary presentation prepared by Chef Rachel Conover. It will included appetizers, salad, entree, dessert, and paired beers. For reservations go to bit.ly/2WF0j9S.
The Homestead 1854 is highly-rated for its ambiance, culinary, and event-staging.
Live musice will be by Abraham Melligh.

Fox Valley Marines golf Aug. 14
The 12th Annual Fox Valley Marines Golf Classic will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Bliss Creek Golf Club, 1 Golfview Road, Sugar Grove.
It will be a fun day with all proceeds to help benefit the Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry, the Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry, and the Fox Valley Marines.
