The frost is on the pumpkin, yessirree;
Predicting what the weather soon will be.
But, here and now, we’re barely into Fall,
So why do we now have this early call?
I know that Mother Nature’s oft obtuse,
But here it seems she’s playing fast and loose.
Two days ago we had good summer heat;
So waking up to this is not so neat.
Had I known this was coming, aptly said,
Most likely you’d have found me still in bed.
I guess it’s obvious…I’ve griped enough—
But where did I put all the winter stuff?
