The village government of Oswego advises residents of traffic restrictions and parking options near the site of Veterans Serenity Park, in anticipation of its dedication ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10.
The new Veterans Serenity Park, on Adams Street, just north of the Waubonsie Creek Bridge near downtown, is accessible by car from the north. From Route 31, take either North Adams Street or North Street to North Adams Street.
Adams Street south of the Waubonsie Creek Bridge is closed due to construction. Vehicles will not be able to approach the Park from the south on Adams Street.
The Park is fully accessible by walking from both the north and south along the Fox River Trail, as well as the Veterans Memorial Parkway, which connects Main Street to Adams Street near the Oswego Public Library.
On-street parking is available on Main Street. Those attending can gain access to Veterans Serenity Park by walking down the Veterans Memorial Walkway near the Library. A minivan will be available beginning at 1:15 p.m. to take attendees, with limited mobility, to the park. Access to the minivan is available in the parking lot behind The Village Grind on Main Street, or the Byline Bank parking lot.
Additional parking is available in the publicly-owned lot at the corner of Washington and Harrison Streets. Take extra precaution when crossing Washington Street, then walk on the Fox River Trail through Hudson Crossing Park north to Veterans Serenity Park.
The dedication ceremony for Veterans Serenity Park is organized by the Oswegoland Park Foundation and the Veterans Serenity Park Committee. For more information, visit www.oswegoveteranspark.org.
