Small business owners are invited to learn how to save on their taxes at The Top 4.5 Deductions for Small Business Owners, a free workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Oswego Public Library’s downtown Oswego campus, 32 W. On any given morning at a coffee shop, you may have overheard conversations about how so-and-so routinely deducts all sorts of business expenses on his tax return. He may have tried to deduct the cost of his cell phone, home office, client dinners, vacations, and even luxury cars. Can this be true? For the most part, it could be, but only if you know the rules and do it right.
Come learn from presenter Harry Eng, who will share what you as a small business owner are authorized to do and, more importantly, how to correctly do it so you can withstand the most severe tax audit if challenged.
Harry Eng is a CPA, Enrolled Agent, and Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute. Eng is a SCORE-certified master business mentor and a popular and well-known speaker on federal and state taxation in the Fox Valley.
The workshop is produced by Oswegrow, a partnership between the Oswego Public Library District, the Village of Oswego, and Fox Valley SCORE that provides opportunities for small business owners and entrepreneurs to learn and grow their businesses in Oswego.
