Events helpful for The Cosmopolitan Club, Boys Baseball

There is room in The Voice created for organizations which hold fundraising events. Many events will bring a benefit to service clubs. For examples, see below for fundraising events of the The Cosmopolitan Club of Aurora in its event March 7 to fight diabetes that will be held at the Chicago Steel ice hockey game at the Fox Valley Ice Arena in Geneva. Boys Baseball of Aurora holds an event to raise funds for the Summer season. The BBA will hold a fundraiser Monday, Feb. 17 from 11 a.m. until closing at the Buffalo Wild Wings, 1460 N. Orchard Road, in Aurora.

Here are additional facts about these two fundraisers and about the fine organizations which perform services beneficial to the Aurora area community:

• The Cosmopolitan Club, known as the Club That Fights Diabetes, has ticket sales for $25. to the 7:05 p.m. game Saturday, March 7. In addition, the evening will include the Third Annual Wiener Dog Races. There will be a table in the lobby during the game for information. The minor league Steel team is in first place in the United States Hockey League Eastern Conference and will play host to Dubuque, the second place team, in the March 7 game. Through Monday, the Steel’s record was 31-7-1 for 63 points. Dubuque was 27-9–1 for 55 points.

• The venerable Boys Baseball of Aurora’s fundraiser will last from 11 a.m. until closing Monday, Feb. 17. Ozzie, the Kane County Cougar, will be in attendance from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m..

• Notable: The Illinois primary election will be Tuesday, March 17. Early voting has started. March 3 will be Super Tuesday and will include 13 states. California and Texas are among the 13.

Clear and concise, week six:

• Elegance and eloquence are not interchangeable. Elegance is stylish or graceful. Eloquence is one who speaks well, clearly, with precision.

• The word as requires clarity. Too often the word as is incorrectly used instead of because and since.

• The word also rarely should be used as a linking word. Nearly always the words before and after the word also, can stand alone without the link.
