Memory And Life Itself

However short or long your lifetime is right now
There have been some events of which you’ve made a vow
You do not want, in any sense, to see again,,
At any time, no matter what, or where, or when.
The strange part is, each of them will but fade in time,
And dim the mental obstacles you had to climb.
You will remember them, and some their poignancy,
But that same monumental impact will not be.
So, now, sit back and think about what this can mean;
The more you have to think about, the more is seen.
No matter how you do it, you will see at last,
It’s God’s way not to have you thinking in the past.
The past is not to be forgotten, but…it’s gone!
It is from what we learn, but not to dwell upon.
Throughout the works of God, nothing’s left to chance;
In fact, it all comes down to just one word—advance!
So memory is one thing, for by it we lean;
That manifests itself in what we learn we earn!
Vicissitudes of life are such we should admit
No matter what we do, God has His Hand in it;
When we look back on life, ere it has run its course,
It’s right that we should see it has a celestial source!
