Marilyn Huntman Giese, an Aurora author, added Nursery Rhymes Your Mother Never Taught You (Xlibris 2019) to a list of her diverse writings. The humorous book contains 24 parodies on familiar nursery rhymes, plus a little history of the genre and some conversations starters. The original versions of these rhymes are included. The project was a source of fun after completing years of research for the novel The Eye of God, A Fisherman’s Tale, (Xlibris 2010) The historical novel is based on the life of St. Peter with Simon Peter, the fisherman, as narrator.
Giese is a member of the Illinois State Poetry Society. Her poetry is included in: Several anthologies by June Cotner; ISPS Vo1.1-4 of Distilled Lives; and various issues of Rivulets, Writings from the Naperville Writers Group. Giese, mother of five and grandmother of 18, keeps up with a scattered family on facetime and Zoom. Gardening and walking have become favorite pastimes after a life of water skiing with family, golf with husband and taking travel photos in the Holy Lands for the photo journal, When the World Changed, A Revolutionary Peace. (Xlibris 2002).
