Seventeen athletes from the Class of 2018 at Rosary High School in Aurora signed letters of intent this Spring to pursue their sports at the college level. These 17 girl athletes represent 23% of the graduating Class of 2018. Four will swim, four will play softball, two volleyball, two basketball, two cross country/track, one soccer, one rowing, and one golf.
Here is a description of those who signed letters of intent.
• Mackenzie Adkins of Geneva, daughter of Jacqueline and Douglas Adkins, will swim for the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado.
• Lauren Brummel of Plano, daughter of Scott and Christine Brummel, will play volleyball for Millikin University in Decatur.
• Krystal Cortes of Aurora, daughter of Sergio and Betsy Cortes, will play softball for Concordia University in Mequon, Wis..
• Brooke Delahanty of Sugar Grove, daughter of Katie and Ryan Delahanty, will run cross country and track for the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
• Sydney Drozdowski of Yorkville, daughter of Rick and Cheryl Drozdowski, will play basketball for Augustana College in Rock Island.
• Claire Hengesbaugh of St. Charles, daughter of Tamera and Doug Hengesbaugh, will run cross country and track for Loyola University in Chicago.
• Jenna Hernandez of Sugar Grove, daughter of Lou and Sara Hernandez, will play basketball for Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa.
• Carlee Hoschouer of North Aurora, daughter of Carrie Barriga and William Hoschouer, will row for the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla..
• Julianne Hutchison of Aurora, daughter of Jean and Jeffrey Hutchison, will play soccer for Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fla..

Rosary offers nine competitive sports as well as a dance team and Marmion Academy’s cheerleading squad. Eighty-two percent of Rosary students participate in athletics; 153 students compete in one sport, 47 students compete in two sports, and five students compete in three sports (2016-2017).
