The problems I see in America today brought forth by the pandemic, the economic crisis, and the policing issues, is that we are often told of a reality that does not exist. We are repeatedly told that the economy is great but for whom? Many individuals and the Country are in debt, wages are stagnated and economic inequality and the ability to acquire wealth is not for all.
Many of those ill and dying of COVID-19 are those who have had good health and good health care denied to them. I am shocked by my lack of knowledge of policing and putting black men in prison. We take the men away and then blame them and their families for not achieving.
The Republican Party has its place in history, but today is not something my father would recognize. Their goals seem not to be governing and policy, but power that is not inclusive. Especially nationally, they ask you to drink from the cup of lies, skewed facts, and a glassy-eyed view of America.
Unless we are realistic we will fail as a democracy and continue to follow leaders who deceive and crave power.
This is why I endorse and will vote for Joe Biden for president of the United States. He doesn’t have all the answers, but is humble enough to seek them. Through his leadership, experience, and expertise, we will grow to become a more perfect union. His platforms are realistic and inclusive to meet the needs of America today.
