Alley Art Festival will be on the last Saturday of the month, Saturday, Aug. 29 with one big change. The popular, grassroots art festival will be downtown-wide.
Celebrating its 10th year, the festival thrown by the Aurora Downtown group will be held at more than a handful of venues throughout downtown, including Society 57, The Yetee, Wyckwood House, 1 E. Benton Street, The Cotton Seed Creative Exchange, Warehouse 55, and SciTech Hands On Museum.
The Festival will feature artists and artisans from noon to 5 p.m. at each location. Live musicians will perform outdoors in public spaces downtown during the event.
Compared to typical years, the festival will be scaled down to about half the participating artists, and there will be no artists set up along Water Street Mall.
Alley Art Festival will bring about 30 artists to downtown Aurora from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Artist booths will be set up both indoors and outdoors at venues. Virtual options to support the artists will be available on the Facebook invitation.
Some of the same shops will be open for Compendium: 001, a curated collection of shops and makers across Batavia, Geneva, and Aurora will be presented by Hearth and Hammer General in Batavia.
