Any 10th anniversary is worthy of acknowledgement. The Aurora Downtown Alley Art Festival, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, throughout downtown, will be in its 10th year. Aurora will emerge from its quiet atmosphere because of the COVID-19 to celebrate, carefully!

As a society, we mix masks with no masks, large groups in a risk for absorbing COVID-19, and restrictions to small groups and isolation. The cartoon last week in The Voice was telling. The left half showed rocket science ready for launch. The right has a man in a mask with wording above, not rocket science. We must function, however, caution is clear.

Will and Kankakee Counties, Region 7, in the State category to monitor COVID-19, has run into troubles lately with increased disease and has had bar and restaurant access muffled. Kane County quickly was taken off the watch list last week, thankfully.

Clear and Concise, Week 34:

• Noun and not a verb: Credit is a noun and not an action word, or, verb.

• Increasingly we see references to a number of (years, items, individuals) which evidently means plural, however, is it two, or, 22, and almost is rendered meaningless in its lack of precision.

• Repeated use of pronouns, he, she, it, they, them, risk a lack of identification and clarity.
