Grace Holistic Center for Education celebrates India diversity by learning the geography, traditions, and food of India. The transitions class recently participated in a global read aloud by reading the novel The Bridge Home. As a culminating activity, they had an “All Things India” party, where students participated in Indian games, ate Indian food such as gulab jamun and chai, and wore bindis (a mark on the forehead) and henna tattoos. Above, Lesli Gresholt applies a henna tattoo to a hand and, lower, Adelaide Gresholt displays a bindi on her forehead. Submitted photos
