Dear editor;
I am writing as a proud member of the Waubonsee Community College Faculty Council. We have unanimously endorsed Giselle Gonzalez and Sandra González for two Trustee seats in the upcoming April 6 election.
Ms Giselle Gonzalez, @giselleforwcc, is the daughter of Mexican immigrants, a former student at Waubonsee, who is working on her education in medicine, all while being a business owner and community organizer. She will bring insight as a recent graduate as to improvements and relevance of our programs and services as an Hispanic Serving Institution.
Ms Sandra González, SandraG4WCC.com, is the oldest daughter of Salvadoran migrants. She is pursuing a doctoral degree in educational administration. She is deeply involved in community organizing and speaks eloquently of her passion for equity and social justice. Sandra sees her potential as a trustee to bring many perspectives on pressing issues, and she will be an articulate voice to represent diverse students, faculty, and staff members in our district.
Please join the Faculty Council in supporting Giselle Gonzalez and Sandra González by electing them to the Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees District 516.
Thank you for your votes.
Jeanne McDonald, president, WCC Faculty Council, Oswego
