Dear editor;
We have a mayoral election coming up April 6. I am voting for Judd Lofchie and this is why:
• Judd Lofchie is respectful and listens to me and his constituents.
By contrast Richard Irvin has behaved rudely toward me and others.
I know it because before COVID-19, I attended many Aurora City Council meetings. I care about what is happening in my hometown. Citizens can sign up to speak for three minutes about any issue they care about. I have signed up and spoken on different issues in front of different mayors. Mr. Irvin is the only mayor who has acted bored by looking at the ceiling. I was shocked that in a room full on onlookers, Mr. Irvin did not even try to act respectful to me as a citizen.
• Judd Lofchie is agreeable and I have never observed him intimidate anyone.
By contrast I have observed Richard Irvin bully those who disagree with him. Again, I was shocked with the lack of decorum Mr. Irvin displayed during public City Council meetings. I finally wrote him a letter about his behavior. He apologized at the next city council meeting. The letter was published in the February 13, 2019 Aurora Beacon News. Unfortunately, I did not notice any change in Mr. Irvin’s behavior..
We need a mayor who is respectful and kind to everyone.
Please join me in voting for Judd Lofchie for mayor of Aurora.
Mary Ann Vincent, Aurora
