Aurora Sunrise Rotary Club awards three, $1,000 scholarships at its June 2 meeting. The high school contestants were asked to share their life experiences and write a short essay on diversity and inclusion. The contest was open to both East Aurora High School and West Aurora High School students. Carson Vest, from West Aurora, will attend USC in Los Angeles, Stephanie Perez, from East Aurora will attend Aurora University, and Karla Pintor from East Aurora will attend Waubonsee Community College. The scholarship program is one of several programs of the Club. Most of the Club’s community services are focused on youth and youth-at-risk.
