Oswego Village president Troy Parlier recently was elected the president of the Board of Directors of the Metro West Council of Governments, an organization that represents Oswego and its neighbors in Springfield and Washington on legislation and policies that affect their residents.
The MetroWest Council of Governments represents 33 municipalities serving more than 750,000 residents in Kendall, DuPage, and Kane Counties, stretching from Minooka to Elgin. The nonprofit organization fosters intergovernmental cooperation between the communities and advocates for State and Federal policies on behalf of residents.
A leader in intergovernmental cooperation and advocacy, the Village of Oswego takes an active role in the Metro West Council of Governments to ensure that the interests of Oswegoans are well represented in conversations happening across the region. Mayor Parlier’s election to the Board president’s role follows a term serving as the board’s vice president. Oswego Village administrator Dan DiSanto serves as the Board’s treasurer.
The Metro West Council of Governments comprises the mayors and city/village administrators of each member community. Mayor Parlier was elected president of the Board of Directors by a vote of the entire membership.
