Joy!

In a hectic, contentious, divisive, world, we should pause momentarily and think joy!

Joy is good for the soul. Joy soothes the soul. Joy is good for the mind, body, and soul.

What the world needs now is joy. That is the world needs love, peace, positivity, joy. Always will be true.

We should work on it and live it in simple ways.

• Events are loosening up somewhat in the face of advanced COVID-19 cases, however, those who are vaccinated have confidence they will not see a tragic end, such as death or crippling hospitalization.

• Confidence will be compiled when, not if, the CDC (Center for Disease and Prevention) authorizes fully the vaccines to stifle COVID-19. It is one step at a time. That’s all any of us can do. Patience.

• Events include the return to the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, August 12-22. The return muffles last year’s absence because of the virus.

• More events will include the opening of the Oswego Entertainment Venue, Thursday, Aug. 19. Big plans have been brewing. Positivity.

• The Venue in Aurora, on Broadway, and part of Mundy Park, continue to be amazing. It is a musical destination and source of joy.

• The good words and tributes for the late Herschel Luckinbill are heartfelt, on target, and should be an example to us all.Celebration.

• Back to school is upon us. In Aurora: 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, at Greene Field Park, 774 Illinois Avenue; 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 14 at Georgetown School, 995 Long Grove Drive; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Phillips Park; 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Aurora Transportation Center; 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Spring Lake Park, 396 Springlake Lane; 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, Martin Luther King Jr. Park 42 N. The aim in this section is to promote exact word usage to enable improved expression. Word meaning, syntax, tense, matter. We may be of assistance to some in a modest way. It is better than not offering any assistance and having too many individuals wallow in the abyss of incoherent communication.
