The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) named North Central College’s Ethan Greenfield, along with Wheaton College’s Ryan Schwartz and John Bickle the CCIW football Student-Athletes of the Week Monday, Sept. 13.
• Greenfield, a junior running back from Lindenhurst, Ill. and Lakes Community High School, posted his 15th career 100-yard rushing effort in the Cardinals’ 64-7 victory over No. 21 Aurora University Saturday, Sept. 11. He rushed 16 times for 137 yards and three touchdowns and became the third North Central athlete to achieve 40 career rushing touchdowns. Greenfield was not tackled for a loss against the Spartans.
• Schwartz, a senior linebacker from Burbank, Ohio and Northwestern High School, led Wheaton with seven tackles, five solo, and three tackles-for-loss when the Thunder shut out Northwestern (Minn.), 56-0, Saturday, Sept. 4. The Thunder limited the Eagles to just 113 yards of total offense, including just 28 yards on the ground.
• Bickle, a senior punter from Eau Claire, Wis. and Eau Claire North High School, totaled three punts for 132 yards, with a long of 51 yards against Northwestern (Minn.) September 4. His first punt of the season was for 37 yards that pinned the Eagles at their own 10-yard line. His second punt was for 51 yards, and his third punt of 44 yards was fair- caught inside the Northwestern 13-yard line. Two of Bickle’s punts went inside the Eagles’ 20-yard line.
