State representative Barbara Hernandez, D-Aurora, is helping residents conveniently renew driver’s licenses, get plate stickers and access other services by being a partner with the Illinois Secretary of State’s office to bring driver services to Aurora’s North Island Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5.

“This past year, many individuals have not been able to utilize DMV services due to the pandemic and may be in need of renewing IDs or plate stickers,” said Hernandez. “I’m working to make sure families in our community have access to these crucial services in an easy and efficient way and I encourage individuals to avoid the crowds at DMV offices and renew your documents at our mobile DMV event in Aurora.”

Hernandez’s event will offer many of the services offered at a regular driver’s services facility, including renewal or correction of a driver’s license, state ID cards, license plate stickers, motor voter registration and organ donor registration. Seniors age 75 and over must visit a permanent Secretary of State driver’s services facility to renew driver’s licenses. Real ID compliant driver’s licenses and ID cards must also be processed at a permanent Secretary of State driver’s services facility and will not be offered at this mobile event. Individuals are also encouraged to renew driver’s licenses or state ID cards online, as well as purchase license plate stickers, by visiting the Secretary of State’s office website at www.cyberdriveillinois.com.

Hernandez’s event is free and open to the public. For more information, or to RSVP, please contact Hernandez’s full time constituent service office by calling 630-270-1848 or send to RepBarbaraHernandez@gmail.com.
