In the past 10 years, the Friends of the Yorkville Public Library (FOL) has had a positive influence on our Library by donating more than $100,000 from two major fundraisers well supported by our community. Here’s how that happened:

• Profits from Used Book Sales, 2009-2021 (no sale 2020; COVID), 12 years = $64,875.

• Profits from Mini Golf FUN Raiser, 2014-2020 (no event 2021; Covid), seven years = $34,121.

• These two major fundraisers reach a total of $98,996.

The Friends of the Library raise $40-$60 monthly for the Lobby Used Book Sale. Adding in these funds, the total raised by the FOL is more than $100,000.

This money has been used to pay for numerous programs, books, and audio-visual materials for adults and children. The FOL has provided funds for the monthly online newsletter; Library display shelves; materials for children’s sensory story time; items for the “Library of Things”; and many other things both inside and out which enhance the Library.
