Rusty Rodeo roundup: Clip Rusty Crayfish

Rusty Rodeo will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, at two locations: Glenwood Park Forest Preserve in Batavia and Primrose Farm in St. Charles.

Help us round up as many Rusty Crayfish as we can find, in an effort to reduce their numbers. Rusty Crayfish are tiny aquatic creatures that are an invasive species in Kane County.

Families are encouraged to join us in the water with dip nets to collect, identify and remove some Rusties. You might even find the biggest of these varmints or collect the greatest number of them. Prepare to get wet! Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that can get muddy.

• Glenwood Park Forest Preserve, 1644 S. River Street, Batavia
• Primrose Farm, 5N726 Crane Road, St. Charles.

The event is in partnership with the Forest Preserve District of Kane County, the St. Charles Park District, the Fox Valley Park District, Friends of the Fox River and the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant.
