The West Aurora Concerned Citizens Neighborhood Group will meet Wednesday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the 5th Ward Meeting Room, 1921 W. Galena Boulevard, West Aurora Plaza.
Guest speaker will be Jim Jarvis, vice president of programming and sales for Aurora Civic Authority, which includes the Paramount Theatre, Copley Theatre, and RiverEdge Park.

Write-in candidates’ deadline Sept. 6 in Will
Qualified Will County residents who would like to run for a government office, but were unable to get their petitions filed in time, can run as write-in candidates. To be a write-in candidate a declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate form must be completed no later than 61 days prior to an election. The form can be found by going to thewillcountyclerk.com.
A declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate can be filed in person at, or mailed to, the Will County Clerk’s Office. The last day to file to be a write-in candidate for the November 6 General Election is Thursday, Sept. 6.
Forms can be mailed to: Will County Clerk’s Office, Attn: Elections, 302 N. Chicago Street, Joliet, IL 60432.
In order to cast a write-in vote, voters must complete their ballots by darkening the oval to the left of the write-in line and write the candidate’s name on the line provided under the appropriate office on the ballot. The voter must make his/her intent clear, such as Frank Smith, not Smith.
