How did computer programming come into play?
How many sat around figuring out each way
Computers could be made to seem, to act, to be
The Devil’s advocate, and with apparent glee?
Oh, I don’t mean I hear it laugh, but check this out—
It does things off the chart as if to show its clout.
Another thing, it seems to do things with design;
It waits until you are engrossed in something fine.
When programmers assemble under just one roof,
Who looks beneath the table for a cloven hoof?
And just who else in that shell—a tiny elf?
Because sometimes, I swear, I’ve seen it fix itself!
Then too, this artificial intelligence “goes to town,”
While from appearances, it seems, ours go down.
Take my advice, and heed this—don’t get mad at it.
Take care—don’t make it mad, even a little bit
