Reverend Tammy Scott, pastor at Wesley United Methodist Church in Aurora, will take a listening tour of congregants.
Thursday, Aug. 17, Reverend Scott will open a five-date series of small-group listening sessions in congregants’ homes. The informal gatherings are designed to help Pastor Tammy meet and learn about the congregation.
The series will continue August 21, 24, 29, and September 9. All sessions will take place in Aurora homes, except for the final meeting which will be held in North Aurora. Hosts will provide desserts and beverages.
Reverend Scott, formerly lead pastor at Sugar Grove UMC, joined Wesley July 1. She succeeded Reverend John Bell who moved to Louisville, Ky., after 10 years of ministry at Wesley.
A native of Lockport, Reverend Scott previously served pastorates in Sugar Grove, Joliet, Wilmette, Bolingbrook, Minooka, and Naperville. She is the chair person for UMC Northern Illinois Conference Council on finance and administration.
Wesley UMC, 14 N. May Sreet. in Aurora, holds Sunday worship services at 9:30 a.m. online and in person at 10:30 a.m.
