The Fort Hill Wellness Series will address the topic of weight training for women, featuring the expertise of personal trainers Anna Aquino and Heather Grier, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct, 24 at Fort Hill Activity Center, 20 Fort Hill Drive.
“Weight training has many benefits for women, yet according to national surveys, only 20% of women lift,” said Wellness Manager Kim Monti. “Women tend to stay out of the weight room due to myths and misconceptions. Our personal trainers will disprove these myths and share their knowledge of how women can be successful with strength training.”
Well-known benefits of weightlifting include increasing metabolism and energy levels, improving body composition and fighting age-related loss of muscle and bone density.
Each attendee must be 15 years of age or older and must register through the Naperville Park District. Fitness members need to register in person at Fort Hill Activity Center or call 630-995-8900 to attend free of charge.
