Aurora started the holiday season in the merriest way on a mild weather night.
More than 7,000 individuals were in downtown Aurora Friday, Nov. 17, for the annual Winter Lights Festival.
The crowd counted down in unison as the Christmas tree was lit and cheered throughout the parade, which included lighted vehicles, circus performers, and, of course, a grand entrance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
After the fireworks show, visitors stayed downtown to listen to music, visit food trucks, and take photos with Santa, the Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, and other holiday characters.
This year is the largest Winter Lights Festival Aurora has ever had.
