The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley held its May “Meet and Greet” at Panera Bread, 2987 Kirk Road, in Aurora, May 11. Members who worked this month’s “Meet and Greet”, were Mary and Tony Arch, Ed Carroll, Marilyn and Russ George, Pat Jones, Kim King, and Ann McBride. Media chairperson, Ann McBride, who organizes this monthly event, announced that next month’s “Meet and Greet”, Saturday, June 15, will be at Jake’s Bagels & Deli, 220 N. Broadway, in Aurora, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley work together, to provide diabetes awareness in the Fox Valley area, while raising funds to provide aid and education for diabetics, along with investing in research to find a cure. Uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose) can cause vision problems, heart problems, nerve damage, dental problems, kidney damage and more! Diet and exercise are two of the most powerful tools we all have to help control our blood glucose. Eat healthy, stay active, and have a yearly blood test, to stay diabetes-free!
•The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley is looking for golfers to participate in our Club’s second annual “Tee Off to Defeat Diabetes” golf outing, Friday, June 21, at Bliss Creek Golf Course, 1 Golf View Road, in Sugar Grove, with a shotgun start at 1 p.m..
Adam Broholm, chairperson, and Matt McCain, co-chairperson, said “Get your clubs ready, we promise you a bigger and more rewarding event than last year! Only $130 per golfer, includes a hot dog lunch, golf, cart, goody bag and steak dinner!”
Not a golfer? Why not attend the golf dinner? Steak dinner, door prizes, basket raffles, and 50/50 cash drawing! Dinner follows golf approximately at 5 p.m., $40 per person
