Staff member, Marcie Lucas (FVSRA), from Fox Valley Special Recreation Association, was in attendance and accepted a check from the members of the Diabetes Club of Fox Valley, in the amount of $2,400.

DCFV’s donation will allow FVSRA to increase educational awareness, help design programs around the needs of individuals with diabetes, and help participants better understand their health needs, to improve their overall well-being.

This focus on diabetes education can enlighten other Fox Valley Special Recreation participants about diabetes and prediabetes, fostering a more inclusive and informed community, about the dangers of uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose).

The Diabetes Club of Fox Valley was formed with a mission to fight diabetes! Fighting diabetes starts with making everyone in the Fox Valley area aware of diabetes and prediabetes, and how uncontrolled blood sugar (glucose) can cause vision problems, heart problems, nerve damage, dental problems, kidney damage, and loss of limbs.

Diet and exercise are two of the most powerful tools we all have to help control our blood glucose. Eat healthy, stay active, and have a yearly blood test, to stay diabetes-free!
