Dear neighbors:
I am running for re-election to the Kane County Board District 4 because I have a passion for serving and protecting the families and the natural riches of Kane County. Thank you for inviting me into your homes to get to know you, your beautiful children, and your dogs—lots of dogs! I have lived here for most of my life and raised two beautiful daughters. I love Aurora and I hope you do, too.
My mother was a school marm from a small town in Wisconsin. My father, the son of Italian immigrants, rose to become a colonel in the United States Army. Both from humble beginnings, both the first college graduates in their families, and yet here I am today, already having served you for four years as your member of the Kane County Board.
I was a small business owner for 15 years as a healthcare provider. I have corporate experience, working at AT&T Bells Labs for 20 years where I was a technical manager. Four years ago, you elected me to the Kane County Board, where I have saved the taxpayers millions of dollars through renewable energy initiatives, voting to keep our taxes as low as possible, and balancing the budget without raising taxes. I am working to create good, high paying jobs in Kane County, and I have been a leader in helping our families to thrive, especially by expanding mental health services. I have protected our freedom of speech, equity in pay for our employees, and the future of our environment.
My history of service to our community is a long one: Founder of the Aurora GreenFest, vice-chair of theMayor’s Advisory Board for Sustainability, past-president of Kiwanis Club, Marie Wilkinson Food Pantry. I have been honored to be a part of all of these fine organizations, which have helped to give me the leadership skills that I use every day on the Kane County Board.
I will continue to work hard and stand up for what I believe in—what we believe in: Taking care of our families and our precious children, protecting our homes and our neighborhoods, promoting a thriving economy for all, guarding our health and safety, and preserving our land, air, and water.
I humbly ask for your vote on, or before, November 5.
