Aurora Lions Club members collected donations for the Aurora Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign Saturday, Nov. 23.
From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., 14 Lions rang handbells in one-hour shifts outside Jewel-Osco, at 1952 W. Galena Boulevard in Aurora from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m..
Army Aurora Corps Major Joaquin Rangel visited the Lions and expressed appreciation for their service. Volunteers were Joe Beary, Tom Muth, Paul Buddy, Al Benson, Arvid Meyer, Archie Vargas, Bobby Menendez, Dan Vargas, Mary Arch, Jay Short, Randy and Lisa Brown and Hilary and Lisa Adam.
According to Rangel, his Aurora unit’s goal is $188,000.
