More than 800 veterans in area senior living facilities received personalized holiday greetings thanks to Oswego youth and adults.
Oswegoland Senior and Community Center (OSCC), an Oswego nonprofit, celebrated the season with its 14th annual Cards for Vets project.
Cards featuring children’s drawings and messages were hand-delivered to 12 senior living facilities and mailed to six Illinois veterans’ homes. Drawings and messages were created by Churchill Elementary and Oswego East High School Key Club students and visitors to OSCC’s booth at Oswego Christmas Walk.
OSCC volunteer Judy Siedliecki coordinated the effort.
OSCC, at 3525 Rt. 34 in Oswego, welcomes seniors and community members to programs that help participants connect, learn and thrive.
