Local author, speaker, and leadership coach Marianne Renner released her newest book, “Self-Talk: 10 Stories You Tell Yourself that Hold you Back… and How to Overcome Them” in which she openly shares how she overcame decades of depression and addiction.
“This is a book I’ve been writing for many years,” Renner said. “Self-Talk” is for anyone facing an obstacle that seems impossible.”
Self-Talk chronicles how Renner became aware of her own self-sabotaging stories, and the tools she used to overcome them. The book also provides stories about how Renner’s coaching clients applied the tools to find meaningful careers, increase their income, and build stronger relationships at work and home.
Renner had a TEDx Talk, “Say Yes and you might win gold,” chronicles the story of how she led a group of small town hip hop kids to beat the odds to become National Junior Olympic Gold Medal Champions.
Self-Talk was released May 6, in honor of National Mental Health Awareness Month.
