The Fort Hill Wellness Series will present its next topic, “Medical and Surgical Options for GERD” Wednesday, Aug. 27 at 1 p.m. at Fort Hill Activity Center, 20 Fort Hill Drive. Dr. Ravi Prakash and Dr. Michael Sherrow will provide multidisciplinary perspectives on Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).
GERD happens when stomach acid repeatedly flows into the esophagus and causes heartburn over time. If untreated, it can cause permanent damage to the tissue lining of the esophagus. Treatments for GERD range from over-the-counter medication to surgery.
The presentation is free for Fort Hill Fitness members, but members must register in person at Fort Hill Activity Center or by phone at 630-995-8900.
