Kane County circuit clerk annual Expungement Clinic

Theresa Barreiro Kane County circuit clerk, Jamie Mosser Kane County States attorney, State senator Cristina Castro, Kane County Law Library, and volunteers, will host the annual Expungement Clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at Elgin Public Library, 270 North Grove Avenue, Elgin.

The Expungement Clinics are designed to help individuals learn what is required to have certain criminal offenses removed from their Kane County records—if eligible.

What to expect:

•Volunteers will meet one-on-one with participants to help begin the expungement process for eligible Kane County cases using approved Statewide forms.

•Once completed, forms will be filed at the Circuit Clerk’s Office. Fee’s may apply.

•The Kane County State’s Attorney will begin the review process.

•Order will be electronically submitted after the objection period.

•Objections filed to the court, parties will be notified by mail.

Important information:

•Check-in for all registered attendees is from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m..

•Register online through the Elgin Public Library: gailborden.info Registration is required.

•Walk-ins are not guaranteed due to time and volunteer availability.

•Applies only to offenses that occurred in Kane County, Illinois.

•A valid photo ID is required.
