Magical Starlight Theatre, a Naperville Park District program, is holding auditions for its January 2026 production of “Shrek” Saturday, Sept. 27 and Sunday, Sept. 28. Youth actors currently in the fourth grade or higher, as well as adult actors are welcome to audition for lead roles, supporting roles or the ensemble. All actors must prepare a vocal piece from the show, and a monologue from the script. Additionally, auditionees will have to do a dance audition and should be prepared to move after their vocal and script readings.
Audition times for all ages are from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center, 305 W. Jackson Avenue, Naperville. Prospective cast members need to attend only one of the audition dates. Actors can sign up for an audition time slot at www.magicalstarlight.org/auditions. Walk-ups are also welcomed and will be placed in the next available audition slot. Each audition will take approximately 80 minutes.
Magical Starlight Theatre’s mission is to create quality family-oriented theatrical productions; to develop a creative, supportive environment for artists; and to expand their community connection through the arts. “Shrek” performances will be January 9-11 and 16-18, 2026 in the Naperville Central High School auditorium.
