Thirty-five members and guests enjoy the Open Roads ABATE family picnic August 24, following a membership meeting at Patti and Kevin’s home. The meeting included updates on chapter activities, membership, legislation, safety and education, products, publicity, and events. Nominations for officers took place with the following members nominated: President, Sam Mataya; vice-president, Fred Chaffer; secretary, Robin Stanley; treasurer, Sara Jones and Diana Rebechini; membership, Frank Lorang; legislature, Sam Mataya; activities, Kevin Smith; safety & ed, Dave Curran; products, Sharyl Mataya; road captains, Diana Rebechini; BOD, Patti Smith; sergeant-at-arms, Donna; court jester, Tracey Supan. No one accepted the nomination for public relations. Final nominations and election of officers will be at the October 25 meeting at 6 p.m. at the Plano American Legion.
