Meet Montgomery ghosts at Cemetery Walk Oct. 1

The Village of Montgomery’s Historic Preservation Commission will host an annual walk at Riverside Cemetery, River and Taylor streets, Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m..

The public is invited. Admission and parking are free.

Tours will begin every 10 minutes. Attendees should bring flashlights and wear sturdy shoes to navigate uneven ground.

Guides lead guests in small groups to meet ghosts of early pioneers and other cemetery residents.

Not a traditional scary cemetery walk, the event is a fun glimpse into the past with presenters portraying historical figures of Montgomery.

The Historic Preservation Commission works to highlight new stories and icons of the community. Each year’s event highlights various Montgomery residents of the past who each have unique stories to tell.
