It’s easy to overlook just how much money the library can help you save. At the Aurora Public Library District (APLD), we are continually working to reduce everyday costs for individuals and families and increase our overall value to Aurora. You see this through the collections we maintain, the services we offer, and the support we provide throughout the community.
The savings add up quickly by borrowing instead of buying! By now you know that APLD offers books, puzzles, video games, tools, musical instruments, and more for our customers to check out. But did you know that the collection extends beyond our library walls? “We can provide you with access to almost any item you are looking for, whether from our own catalog or through our partnerships with libraries across the world!” said Eola Road Branch manager, Krista. This means that even if we don’t own it, we can find it, saving you the cost of purchasing.
The value continues with entertainment savings. If you’re looking to cut back on subscriptions for movies, music, or magazines, our digital resources offer same-day new releases and music downloads straight to your devices. “It is so easy to access your favorite music, shows, movies, books, and magazines online via the library,” added Krista. “Once you know where to go, download the apps, and sign in, you have so much available to you digitally—for no added cost!”
Beyond personal savings, APLD also supports the local economy through unique services like notary appointments and our Makerspace. “The notary service has proven invaluable to our customers, who regularly express delight and relief when they see how easy it is to get something notarized at the library, and you don’t even have to reach for your wallet” said Krista. Local businesses also appreciate the Makerspace’s cost-effective tools for printing posters, cutting vinyl decals, and designing employee nametags. By offering these resources, we strengthen our community and add meaningful value for all library users.
So before making your next purchase, take a moment to see if the library can help you save that expense. Not sure what’s available? Visit us and explore! With your APLD card, you’ll unlock the full range of resources and savings waiting for you.
