Aurora residents experienced a Medieval-style Christmas Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 14-15, at West Aurora High School’s annual madrigal weekend presentations.

A project of West students and staff, events featured a Saturday evening three-course feast which was sold out and a Sunday afternoon dessert performance. It was the 38th year of performances including music, food and festive spirit. Volunteers transformed the school cafeteria into a castle’s great dining hall.

“King” Noah Fuller and “Queen” Emilia Anderson reigned over the festivities. Jester Te’yonna Bailey paraded a replica boar’s head to open the event.

Brian Smith, director of choirs, said “These traditions are highly anticipated each year by our students, alumni, and community members. They are an excellent showcase of the value that West Aurora places on music and the fine arts in our community!”
