The City of Aurora government will host a wreath-laying ceremony Sunday, Feb. 15 at 1 p.m. to honor the seventh anniversary of the Henry Pratt Company Mass Shooting, which took the lives of five company employees and injured five Aurora police officers Friday, Feb. 15, 2019.
The ceremony, which will take place at Aurora City Hall, 44 E. Downer Place, Second Floor, Aurora, will honor the lives of victims Russell Beyer, Vicente Juarez, Clayton Parks, Josh Pinkard, and Trevor Wehner by featuring remarks from their families, mayor John Laesch, the Aurora Police Department, the Aurora Fire Department, and community members.
The gathering is intended to both honor and remember the lives lost during the tragedy, hold space for victims’ families to grieve, and to reaffirm the City’s commitment to care for one another as a community.
A moment of silence will also occur following the wreath-laying to further honor and remember the lives of those who had passed away.
