Celebrating Mardi Gras, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 27 S. Edgelawn Drive, Aurora, will host annual dixieland-band worship services Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 14-15. The events will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. The public is invited.
The celebration will continue after worship Sunday with a Mardi Gras luncheon in Sanctuary Hall. The menu features jambalaya, corn bread, chicken fingers, mac and cheese, tossed salad, and cake. A $5 per person donation is suggested.
Band members are volunteers including Kristin Young, piano/vocals; Brodie Drane, bass; Chandler Claps, drums; Aaron Krueger, guitar; Shawn Maxwell, clarinet; Ava Maxwell, trumpet; and Jeffrey Choate, trombone.
