State representative Jed Davis (R-Yorkville) will host his fourth annual Fishing Derby from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 20, at Silver Springs State Park, Loon Lake, 13608 Fox Road, Yorkville.
“All local families are invited to join us for our fourth annual Fishing Derby,” said Rep. Davis. “Father’s Day weekend is a great opportunity for families to make memories and enjoy time together outdoors. We’re excited to bring this event back again this year with the help of some incredible community partners.”
The first 50 children in attendance will receive free rods and reels. Additional prizes and perks will be provided courtesy of Plano Molding and Plano Culver’s. Illinois Conservation Police will also be on-site to provide fishing safety information and assist participants with baiting hooks and reels. No fishing license is required to participate.
