Musings:

•The Sins of Donald J. Trump (chapter 21). He has:

Attempted to establish a $1.8 billion “slush fund” for the purpose of rewarding the rioters of January 21, 2021 who claimed they were innocent of the charges against them;

Welcomed white South African “refugees” while excluding refugees from other African countries;

Ordered five electric utilities to re-open their coal-burning power plants due to an “energy emergency”;

Endorsed the proposal of having his signature on U.S. paper currency and his portrait on a proposed $250 bank note in time for the U.S. 250th birthday;

Signed an executive order directing the U.S. Treasury to shut down all bank accounts, credit card companies, and other financial institutions which are tied to human smuggling, drug trafficking, and illegal immigration;

Threatened to attack Iran with nuclear weapons if Tehran did not approve a deal ending the war against it;

Signed an executive order directing the U.S. Postal Service to implement rules which would decide who will get mail-in ballots and who will not;

“Celebrated” his 80th birthday by losing the war with Iran he started, putting America deeper in debt and causing 18 families to lose one of their children;

“Celebrated” the 250th birthday of the United States of America by staging a debacle on the lawn of the White House;

Threatened to renew attacks on Iran if Tehran did not keep the Strait of Hormuz open;

Proposed to “take over” the city of Washington, D.C. if the candidate for mayor he did not want to win, actually did win; and

Decided to cancel a signing ceremony for a bipartisan housing bill and to withhold it until the Senate passes the election bill.

•To continue the saga of B.S.:

The following is pure conjecture, dear reader. It may or may not have happened, but The Chas presents it as one possible answer to Bill “B.S.” Suhayda’s behavior in his essays on these pages. He may refute and/or blow a gasket. That is also his prerogative.

B.S. declared in a previous essay that he had to “flee communist Hungary (his words exactly).” He did not emigrate to the United States in an orderly manner. No, he had to flee!

During World War II, Hungary was in the grip of a fascist political body known as the “Green Shirts” (their unofficial insignia). They allied themselves to Nazi Germany and praised Adolf Hitler for the “good works” he was doing. In many instances, the Green Shirts emulated der Fuerher by rounding up their own “undesirables” and sending them to concentration camps. Among these were Hungarian Communists, an agitating group who pushed the idea of a “dictatorship of the proletariat” as set down by Karl Marx. Some of the leaders of this group faced summary execution.

Nothing lasts forever, of course. Mountains crumble into dust. Stars burn themselves out.

With the defeat of the Axis powers at the end of World War II, fascists became an endangered species. In Hungary, the communists became the rulers while the Green Shirts were rounded up and jailed. The worst of them were executed.

It may be that the male members of the Suhayda family were Green Shirts, living a life of luxury under the regime. If so, they were on a wanted list. The communists were rounding up as many fascists as they could and executing the worst of the lot. The Suhaydas had to flee communist Hungary and seek haven in the good old U.S. of A.

As I wrote before, this account is pure conjecture. Still, I have good news for B.S.: The communists are out and so, perhaps, are the fascists. Hungary is safe for all Suhaydas to return home where they will be welcomed with open arms, or not! Wayne Johnson and I will spring for a one-way ticket.

Just a thought.
